COMPUTERS4KIDS COMPUTER TRAINING CLASSES
Computers4Kids.
Computers4Kids is a non-profit after-school technology mentoring program for disadvantaged youth. In order to begin the Computers4Kids program, all students must attend a 4-day basic training class. This class must be attended by all incoming students and attendance every day is mandatory. Students will learn basic computer skills to set a foundation for the higher tech skills they will soon be learning. Students will also learn internet safety and the expectations of the program. HEAD START ENROLLING NOW
MACAA Head Start.
MACAA Head Start is now accepting applications for the 2007-2008 school year. Head Start is a federally funded comprehensive pre-school readiness program for low-income families. Classrooms are located in the City of Charlottesville and the counties of Albemarle, Louisa, Fluvanna, and Nelson. Transportation is available in most areas. If your child will be age 3 or 4 by September 30, 2007 they are eligible to apply. Head Start welcomes children with disabilities. The deadline for early consideration is March 30, 2007. Local youth are invited to participate in the Hershey Track Meet. Participants may enter up to three events (two running & one field or two fields and one running). MONTESSORI MORNINGS
MCS is pleased to offer a weekly Montessori Infant and Toddler class. Children ages 6 to 24 months attend with a parent or caregiver. The class will be led by Cynthia Jordan Fisher. Cynthia is Montessori trained for prenatal to age three and is prior founder and Director of Montessori Open Mornings and The Village Playhouse here in Charlottesville, Virginia. We welcome Cynthia's expertise with preparing a safe, stimulating and peaceful infant/toddler environment in which the children can learn about their world. These little ones will be allowed to observe and participate in their own way, according to their level of interest and ability. They will be provided with plenty of what Montessori highly valued for infants called “freedom of movement” in a nurturing setting. FREE CHILD CARE FOR RETURNING MILITARY WORKFORCE COMING FROM IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN

National Guard and Reserve soldiers who are fathers or mothers will experience an easier transition during these two weeks with the help of volunteers who will care for their children for several hours at a time.
